Alan Wilson and Family

This is a story Alan wrote.  I have to say that if you want a good laugh to start your day, this is it.  I laugh so hard every time I read this.  What a neat story to pass on through the generations.

The Finger Prince by Alan Wilson

Once in a kingdom in a faraway land, a king and queen had a baby son.  The problem was, he was very, very small.  In fact, he was only the size of a finger.  The baby was named after his great grandfather, Bartholomew; but was called little Barty by his parents.  Little Barty was so little he couldn't keep friends and couldn't play with them because they couldn't see him.  This was particularly true with sports.  He was way too little to play soccer.  He was way too slow and little for baseball.  Don't even get me started on basketball.  He couldn't ride horses.  His parents wouldn't let him have a dog for obvious reasons. All of this led to his need for power but he knew he couldn't be king because of his size,  Barty knew his father would select his brother to succeed him so the defeated prince started stealing!  He could easily sneak into rooms because of his size.  The little prince first stole coins; but these proved to be way too heavy and time consuming.  The King and Queen's son decided to switch to taking diamonds and jewels because he found they were smaller and lighter than coins and were also more valuable.  This went on for quite some time before the king finally got word of what was happening.  He decided to send the royal guards to investigate the reason so many jewels were being stolen.  The agents were, at first, baffled as to how this could happen.  Finally on one such heist they found a tiny set of footprints in he dust.  This changed the entire investigation.  The guards were much more thorough on subsequent thefts.  They noticed sets of small tiny tracks at most of these robberies and the mystery was solved.  The findings were brought before the king, who decided to send the royal guard to fetch his son.  The finger prince became aware of his imminent fate and decided to flee the kingdom.  To this day, the tiny prince has not been caught.  This is why in police stations everywhere you can hear them say, "Did you get the finger prince?"
